From November 19th to 21st, 2025, a series of opening ceremony activities of the Asia-Pacific International Arbitration Chamber (APIAC) Japan Arbitration Center were held in Central Osaka. This event focuses on the new trends and international arbitrations of economic and trade cooperation in East Asia, and provides participants from different legal jurisdictions with learning experience that combines Japanese policies and practical insights.

The training invited seven experts to be the lecturer and group member of the Co-Chairman of APIC Ma Zhanjun; senior arbitrator Umura Ginka; Senior lawyer and arbitrator Koto Yoshihiro; senior lawyer and tax accountant Tatsuo Muraota, Kensuke Takeshita, Dean of Ichibashi University Law School; and several other internationally renowned lawyers and scholars, as well as senior lawyers and arbitrators Sun Yan. The course covers the latest developments in Japanese commercial law and arbitration, focusing on corporate law and real estate cross-border investment practices. Build a high-end platform, cultivate a vibrant ecosystem, allow in-depth interaction between participants and outstanding industry people, and promote the cross-pollination of ideas.

· November 19: In the afternoon, Uemura Silver Card presided over the meeting of ‘Analyzing the Complex Issues of Legal Disputes in Property Insurance in China and Japan’.

November 20: Training focuses on the corporate law system. In the morning, Zhu Daming delivered a lecture on ‘The Current Situation and Development of Japanese Company Law’. The afternoon meeting includes Takatori Yoshihiro’s ‘Trends and Prospects of International Arbitration and Mediation in Japan’ and Murao’s ‘Anti Money Laundering System and Real Estate Investment Model and Tax Impact’ on MURAO Nov. 21: The training further examines the legal risks of arbitration practice and investment. In the morning, Takeshita Kyosuke introduced ‘Japanese Arbitration’. In the afternoon, Sun Yan presided over the meeting of ‘Japan Investment and M&A Legal Practice Points – Risk Identification and Avoidance’.

At the end of the training, Ma Zhanjun, co-president of APIAC, delivered a closing speech and speech entitled ‘Chinese lawyers have expanded their practice opportunities and challenges in Japan through international arbitration’. Drawing on the reality of Sino-Japanese economic and trade cooperation, he analyzed the opportunities and challenges faced by Chinese lawyers in Japan for practicing and arbitration.

The professional legal training of the APIAC Japan Arbitration Center aims to deepen its influence in the Japanese market and promote regional legal synergy. It aims to provide stronger safeguards for dispute settlement for Sino-Japanese economic and trade cooperation. In the three-day plan, the participants not only systematically studied the legal practice of East Asia, but also explored new ways and opportunities for cross-border legal cooperation and professional exchanges.
